Gwak
Lead Sculptor / Curator
GWAK is a visionary multidisciplinary artist and designer from Sarasota, Florida, celebrated for his bold, nostalgia-driven work and 15 years of creative mastery. His practice blends sculpture, set design, fabrication, and immersive installation, resulting in playful, larger-than-life pieces that reinterpret iconic cultural imagery from the 80s and 90s.
Inspired early by the cinematic effects and animated storytelling of 90s films, GWAK began shaping his artistic identity at Booker High School, where he absorbed foundational training in set design and large-format creative production. Today, he is widely recognized for transforming everyday objects into monumental sculptures that feel both familiar and fantastical—bridging memory, emotion, and humor in a way that captivates audiences of all ages.
His work has been featured in exhibitions such as the POP show at FloridaRAMA Gallery, where his supersized interpretations of nostalgic toys, fast food, and pop culture artifacts generated significant attention from collectors and community audiences. His ability to trigger instant nostalgia and visual delight makes his work particularly impactful for brand campaigns, public art programs, experiential marketing, and highly shareable activations.
Beyond traditional art spaces, GWAK applies his world-building approach to experiential design, creating themed Airbnb environments that immerse guests in cinematic, story-driven settings. This multidisciplinary skill set—balancing sculpture, fabrication, set design, and playful narrative—positions him as an ideal collaborator for brands seeking fresh, culturally resonant, and visually bold creative solutions.
